American Model Kellie Wilson for the Sunday Times magazine article titled 'The Freedom of Movement' published on the 6th of November 1966.
The article by Meriel McCooey featured Mary Quant’s latest garments for The Ginger Group. This outfit was simply described as 'purple dress with matching shorts, £6 16s. 6d. Available at the end of the month from Bazaar, Knightsbridge, S.W.1.'
Mary Quant said of this specific selection: "They are not as silly as they seem. I noticed that girls in short skirts were kicking their legs around more than before and the results weren't always attractive. I thought that I would design underclothes which are intended to show."
