Vogue - E-Type Jag on The M1 Motorway - 1961

Shot for British Vogue on the newly opened M1 motorway, this Jaguar E-Type was the very first convertible to roll out of the factory. It was the talk of the town at the Geneva Motor Show in 1961, and today, it stands as the oldest surviving Series 1 Roadster, having been built in February 1961. The iconic photograph was published in British Vogue on the 1st of June 1961. Decades later, the car is still turning heads and was prominently featured by Jeremy Clarkson on Top Gear. The vehicle remains in private ownership rather than being permanently bequeathed to a museum.
